Happy (Fake) 1st Birthday!

If you haven't caught on yet, Heather & Brett don't  have any kids yet into their almost two year marriage.  We don't really do animals.  So no dogs, no cats, no flying squirrels, not even fish.  We choose to spoil each other...and our beautiful nephew Walter Mack.  So when we realized we weren't going to be able to make it to Charlotte, North Carolina for his first birthday (August 2) we were kind of bummed.  And then we decided, we'll just have our own birthday party for him and he'll love us even more!

While we were at the lake house for the 4th of July festivities, we threw together his first, first birthday party.  (We ended up going with the Winnie the Pooh because we could find matching hats to go with the plates and napkins set) But because of the remote location, it was impossible to have the pony, clown and bouncy house that Heather originally wanted so we just had to settle for "Brandi & Andy the party clowns" making balloon animals and lots and lots of presents.

At 11 months old and celebrating his first birth anniversary, the WM wasn't really sure what was going on, but when he realized that little cake was his and his alone, he went to town.  He had a great time with the icing and thought even Uncle Brett and his mom Dana would enjoy some too!  Halley dog made out like a bandit licking up the icing chunks that went airborne.  The rest of us were just trying to dodge the icing bombs that were flying.

After pausing the party to take a fast bath (amazing how icing can get everywhere!) and a quicker-than-Cher-costume change, Walter Mack was ready to tear into his presents!

Like all little kids, he was more excited about the paper and the cardboard boxes than he was the toys inside them.  Auntie Heather & Uncle Brett made a conscious effort to buy toys that were not very loud, for fear that paybacks might be bestowed upon them one day.  Luckily, Walter Mack seemed to like his fabulous new toys and clothes and declared Heather & Brett to be his favorite Aunt & Uncle of all time!

  1. Brandi & Andy Party Clowns are really hard to book. I can't believe you got them.
