On our very first visit to Albany, we were sitting in a TGI Fridays and quickly realized there were somethings we really just didn't want to know. There were only a few things on the menu that were under 1,000 calories! And the things that you would think were healthy weren't...the pecan-crusted chicken salad, served with mandarin oranges, dried cranberries and celery had 1,360 calories!
After a couple of months of enjoying all this New York food and trying not to read all those numbers we realized it was catching up with us. Dr. Carrie Carda, (Heather's own Dr. Oz) recommended trying the HC3 Trim diet plan and shipped it from Missouri just for us in New York. The Garretts were super gung-ho about the prospect of losing 40 lbs. in 40 days! Until we started reading the instructions...and realized we had just signed on for the meanest diet ever.

The first two days of the diet are the best thing ever. Called "fat loading," you are supposed to eat everything you can fit into your mouth. Like seriously, it's supposed to be three Thanksgiving dinners a day for two days. If you do this diet, eat like it's your last meal folks. We didn't realize that it would be and sorely look back on these days and play "shoulda, woulda, coulda" all the time.

We've become masters of spices and have learned how to use Splenda to our advantage and now cook with small amounts of Coconut Oil. 40 days is a long time and the Garretts hope to transform from chunky monkeys to skinny minnies! The mean diet has made us miss out of some great NY food and even an ice cream eating contest, but we hope it will be worth it in the end. We'll keep you posted!
