On the Duplessis Recovery Road

Brett and Heather have lived in a lot of places!  We're actually on our third state since we've been married, in less than three years.  But before we crossed paths, we crossed paths with plenty of people that played pivotal roles in our lives.

It's nice to keep in touch with our old friends that span the different stages of our lives.  We love hearing updates on how they are doing in life, where they are now and how things are going.  Unfortunately, not all news is good news.

Most folks know that Heather came to KAIT in Jonesboro, Arkansas after working at KFVS-12 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  A big part of that move came from the support and motivation of her dear friend and co-worker Jeffery Duplessis.  Jeffery worked as an assignment editor in Cape during the week and commuted back to St. Louis on the weekends to be with his wife Rhonda.  It was ironic that years later Jeffery and Heather would both end up living in Mississippi...Jeffery in Jackson while Heather was in Tupelo.

Word came last week that Jeffery had suddenly fallen ill from complications of diabetes and was in the ICU at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  He is fighting for his life.

His wife started a blog, Duplessis Recovery Road, in order to keep friends and family updated on Jeffery's situation.  We are keeping Jeffery and his family in our thoughts and prayers and hope you will too.

In the KFVS newsroom with Stephanie Byars and Jeffery Duplessis.
