Farmer Brett

Recently our 86-year-old neighbor moved out of her apartment and back in with her husband of 60 years (long story).   We were sad to see her go, but when we realized that the little patch of earth just outside front of our door would become unclaimed territory, we were pumped!

Actually, Brett was pumped....he's been itching to play in the dirt.  It didn't take long before he sprang into action marking his new territory (hee, hee).  Before you could say P. Allen Smith, B. Alan Garrett was wrist deep in dirt!

He spent the afternoon weeding out the area.  After consulting his Farmer's Almanac (or in this case, the internet) Farmer Brett planted tomatoes, cucumbers, red peppers, basil, cilantro and Heather's Easter tulips.

His crop went into the ground in these cool biodegradable pots that hold the soil and roots.  You just stick the whole thing in a dirt hole and are done!

We'll be sure to let you know how this bumper crop turns out!
