Step Into a Storybook

Heather, Laura & Brandi
Chickadee may not know it yet, but he is so lucky to have so many people in his life that love him!  When our "Jonesboro family" of former K8'ers Brandi, Andy and Laura offered to throw him a baby shower, we were so flattered and super excited!  After all, who needs an excuse to drink punch and eat finger foods?

Held at the Valley View Church of Christ in Jonesboro, the creative crew put together one of the cutest baby shower ideas we've Heather has seen in a long time.  Inspired by Heather's life long love of reading  (and probably Brandi's new job as the public relations gal at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library) the shower was called "Step Into a  Storybook" and was themed with all sorts of cute books perfect for baby!  The party planning team even managed to pull the menu right off the pages!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar had plenty of fruit to offer up
And if you give a Mouse a cookie you'll end up with baby shower cake
Plus, the Tawny Scrawny Lion had plenty of bunny cookies to gobble up
and there were certainly Blueberries for Sal (under the plastic wrap)
The creativity didn't stop there...Brandi whipped up a couple of games to celebrate Chickadee's impending arrival for us, including a "Name that Mommy" trivia and "How Big is Heather?" (which btw-became very unflattering very fast)

Phyllis/Mimi got a little carried away with the yarn...
Really folks, really??
Chickadee was sure flattered to have so many friends and family come to his baby shower!

K8 Girls: Heather, Nancy Germer, Laura Gunter, Brandi Hodges,
Courtney Andrews, Wendy Rolley Schroeppel & Diana Davis
Aunt Bernardine, Heather, Mimi, Cousin Jane, Jessica and little Claire
Plus, he scored lots of awesome gifts!  No worries on this baby not having anything to get started with! (Wonder how it's all going to get back to New York though?)

I'm sure Mom will find a way!
