Our pal Andy just took a promotion that places him in the Washington, D.C. area. We were super happy to stop by and see him on our way down to Charlotte for Thanksgiving and take a look around the National Harbor.
He gladly took Colt (we just tagged along) on a little tour of his new stomping grounds, which were pretty sweet!
There were plenty of boats out on the water, which Colt loved looking at from our hotel room.
The National Harbor has some odd art, but we didn't mind. We got to see The Awakening coming out of the sand. The sculpture was designed by J. Seward Johnson, Jr. and was originally part of a public art exhibit in 1980 in DC. It moved to the National Harbor in 2008. Kind of cool isn't it?
Andy didn't mind showing Colt his favorite parts of the National Harbor...including the Peeps Store under the giant Christmas tree!
